Dr. Paula King, Golf's
"Head" Coach®, is a licensed sports psychologist in private practice
in Phoenix, Arizona. Specializing in work with golfers,
her clients include tour pros, juniors and amateurs. With an
undergraduate degree in physical education and a Ph.D. in Psychology,
she has more than 20 years experience helping people shrink their
problems and expand their minds.
Working one-on-one with professionals
and amateurs she helps them develop the winners edge, lower their
scores, increase their consistency, and have more fun and enjoyment
on the course. 90% of her clients are the result of
direct referrals from prior clients. The other 10% respond
to her monthly columns in the Arizona
Republic, the Phoenix daily paper (To read some articles,

of this page), or have attended one of her highly acclaimed introductory
workshops.
She presents workshops
and seminars for the public and is sought by professional
organizations and golf clubs as a keynote speaker. Her light-hearted,
yet informative and practical style make her especially popular
with men's and women's golf leagues, as well as golf schools wishing
to add a unique touch to their program. Endorsed by the PGA
of America, her workshops can be taken by PGA professionals toward
fulfillment of their education requirements.
Coaching golfers to expand
their use of imagery beyond the more traditional applications
of visualization is just one example of the expertise and creative
resources she brings to her work. In 1989 Paula completed a 150 hour
post-doctoral training program in INTERACTIVE GUIDED IMAGERYsm.
She is certified by the Academy for Guided Imagery, in Mill Valley
California, and serves on their Board of Directors. She
is a pioneer in the use of INTERACTIVE IMAGERYsm in the field
of sports psychology.
